Cadet Paton A. Wilson of 680 Waskada Squadron pictured with his parents and Air Marshal Hugh Campbell following the presentation to Paton of a "Certificate of Commendation for Bravery" at the Winnipeg convention of the RCAF Association. The 18 year-old cadet received the award for risking his own life in order to save a young girl from drowning in the Souris River near Melita, Manitoba.
